Sales Table Fundraising

Sales Table Charity Donations

At each meeting of Romsey Quilters items of fabric and haberdashery donated by members may be bought from the Sales Table. Proceeds from the sales are donated to charity and over the last twenty years several thousand pounds have been donated to a range of good causes. We really appreciate the efforts of Jill and Iris who generously give their time to run the table.

2015/16 Donations

On 28/02/17 we welcomed Amanda Bellamy from Ben’s Heroes Trust. Amanda explained how the Trust provide financial aid and support to assist children with cancer being treated in the UK to gain access to new treatments/drugs not available on the NHS and to fund projects to improve their quality of life. Romsey Quilters were delighted to be able to donate £500 to Ben’s Heroes Trust from the Sales Table proceeds for 2015/16.

On 14/03/17 we welcomed Phil Oates from the QE2 Activity Centre based at Manor Farm Country Park, Bursledon, Hampshire. Phil explained that the Centre provides activity opportunities for people with disabilities of all ages. There is a wide range activities including canoeing, kayaking, archery, climbing, motorboat, zipwire, ropes etc and every effort is made to ensure that all activities are inclusive and accessible. People can attend for the day or for short breaks and courses.

The charity was nominated at our AGM by Allison Miller and supported by Carolyn Finch and Romsey Quilters were delighted to be able to donate £500 to the QE2 Activity Centre from the Sales Table proceeds for 2015/16.
