We are proud to announce the Romsey Quilt Festival 2017 in conjunction with Romsey’s two weeks of festival.
The exhibition will be held in the spectacular location of Romsey Abbey and will run from Saturday 1st July 2017 to Sunday 16th July 2017. The venue will be open every day from 10am until 4pm (except for services). Disabled access is available.
[For more information about other festival events taking place, please go to: Romsey Festival].
The Quilt Exhibition
The Abbey will form the backdrop to a magnificent collection of quilts, wall hangings and other textile articles created by members of Romsey Quilters.
There will be a category interpreting an Amy Bradley design and a display of cushions made by local children. Also on display will be two children’s quilts to be raffled in aid of the Rose Road Association for Children. (Raffle tickets will also be available at some other local events in the run-up to the exhibition. Please follow this link for more information).
As well as the wonderful displays of quilts there will be a Sales Table and demonstrations in The Abbey. Entrance to the exhibition will be free but a souvenir catalogue will be available for a suggested donation of £2.50.
There will be a ‘Pop Up’ café (run by the Daisy Cake Company) in the South Garth of the Abbey where refreshments will be served. Newspapers and some toys to entertain children will also be available.
In addition to the exhibition Romsey Quilters will be hosting a concert entitled ‘An Evening With Ricky Tims’ International Quilter and Musician on Friday 7th July in Romsey Abbey. Tickets will range in price from £15 (unreserved) to £25 (reserved).
Ricky will also be giving an all-day seminar at The Mountbatten School on Saturday 8th July at a cost of £40. This will include ‘Just a Quilting Fool‘ in the morning and ‘Rhapsody Quilts‘ in the afternoon. Lunch will be available to purchase on the day provided by Café Fresh.
Tickets will be available to the public from early 2017 via ticketsource.co.uk/musicinromsey
